Christmas is only a couple of weeks away, and if you’re like me then you have a few more gifts to buy for friends this holiday season.
Are you looking for some simple, meaningful, and cost-effective gift ideas for your family/friends within the last few weeks of shopping? Then you’ve come to the right blog!
Here are 5 gifts I plan to (or may have boughten) a friend or two this Christmas season!
A book
If you have a friend who is an avid reader than I recommend that you visit the freshly stocked shelves of a nearby bookstore to see the countless books that they have to offer.
Try choosing a book from a genre that your gift receiver enjoys reading, or choose a book that they’ve mentioned to you previously. You definitely can’t go wrong with purchasing Michelle Obama’s new best-selling book ‘Becoming’ — which I hope is under my Christmas tree this year.
Customized mug
This gift is perfect for the caffeine lovers in your life! Department stores such as Walmart or Shoppers have online templates that you can use to design your own customized mug (and a ton of other customized items).
All you have to do is make an account, log in, upload your photos and choose your template design! Easy peasy. You even have the option to ship the mug to the nearest store location or to your house. It also is a quick process and can be picked up within 2 days (or so says the website)!
A basket of their favourite things
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens? Maybe not quite. However, you can’t go wrong with filling a box, basket or bucket of 5-10 mini items that your friend really enjoys. It can be anything from a gift card, to candy, candles, hand lotion, nail polish – the options are ENDLESS!
Baked goodies
How amazing would it be to open up your favorite baked goodies on Christmas day? After all, the words “indulge” and “holiday” go together perfectly. This delicious treat is always a very good personal item to get a friend (as long as your baking skills are up to par)!
Cozy blanket & socks
You can’t go wrong with comfort. Trust me. Who wouldn’t love a new microfibre blanket and some plush socks to snuggle their toes in during these cold winter nights. Chapters Indigo always sells some really nice blankets, but also look at local shops. Shopping locally is a great thing, and I know many good stores sell nice blankets for a decent price.

I hope all or one of these gifts ideas will help make your shopping a little bit more merry & bright.
